  • Banking System for Sanasa.

    Name - Chandima Bandara Abeysinghe
    Course - GDSE
    Panadura Branch
    2015/16 - 37th Batch

It was in September 2015 that I started the GDSE program after the completion of my Advanced Level. After just six months of lectures under the lecture panel of the Institute of Java and Software Engineering, I have been able to successfully complete a fully functional Banking System for the Sanasa Development Bank. It is proof of how well I have been nurtured in the required areas that I have been able to complete such a complex project to match industrial standards during a short period of time as just one month without much ado. The lecturers have always been there guiding me during the moments I have met doubts regarding academic matters and encouraged me to complete this product in a manner worthy of professionals and I have to state that such an achievement would have been impossible without the knowledge they have bestowed upon me.

  • Distributing System.

    Name - Jaith Kaushlya
    Course - GDSE
    Galle Branch
    2015/16 - 38th Batch

I entered the Institute of Java and Software Engineering for the 38th batch and my first semester project for the GDSE training program was implemented for a distributing company. A distributing company has a large scope to be covered. Once I had finished the analyzing part for my project I was left with core modules covering the areas of placing purchase orders, approval of orders, sending the GRN, delivery of goods to wholesale and retail shops, creating invoices, handling payments etc. Implementation of the project was done using the Java SE 8.0 standard version and Netbeans Platform as a development tool. The database area was covered using MySQL 5.5 server version. Jasper was used for generating reports along with additional libraries for various features I wanted to include in my project. I used the three tier architecture for the completion of my project. The Model View Controller (MVC) design pattern was used for designing and the Singleton design pattern was used for maintaining database connections. The result was a project that was able to control all factors that go into controlling the Distributing Company. In the end I was able to create a project that qualified as the top project for my batch within a period of one month along with all documentation including user manuals, etc.

  • Taxi Management System.

    Name - Shanilka Jayamanna
    Course - CMJD
    Panadura Branch
    2014/15 - 33rd Batch

The implementation of taxi companies in Sri Lanka are a messed up deal. Keeping track of the vehicles, their drivers, managing reservations and recording payments that have been made and are pending is a difficult task and if it is to be done manually, would require an immense workforce. Even then, various issues would arise when human errors may occur and solving them would take much time and effort. Due to this reason, I saw that a taxi company would benefit immensely from the presence of a fully automated system. My system addressed the various issues a taxi company may face. You have the ability to register vehicles, clients, drivers, reservations and packages. It is able to keep track of the various reservations that have been placed regardless of whether they are long hires or short hires, managing the location of the vehicle and placing further reservations for it in a manner that does not clash with its existing schedule. My system enables the management of the business in a flexible manner due to the ability to customize the software to fit user requirements. Reports can be generated covering the entire scope including reservations, payments, etc. Notifications for oncoming hires are generated in a manner that the user would be able to handle them easily. The system was created after much thought so that the user would benefit from the system to a maximum extent.

  • Spare Parts Management System.

    Name - Vihanga Yasith
    Course - CMJD
    Galle Branch
    2014/15 - 34th Batch

I met the challenge of creating my first ever project just six months after entering the IJSE. I was able to perfect the product in a way that it became the best project of my batch. The trade of spare parts especially requires the presence of a system that is able to keep track of every individual spare part. Spare parts are a very diverse range of products. Whereas spare parts can refer to mudguards and rear mirrors, they can be of various brands, for various vehicles, produced in various countries. Keeping track of the equipment can be a hazardous task and locating a piece of equipment close to impossible if done manually and would take an infinite amount of time. My system for managing spare parts allows the facility of following spare parts using their barcodes and immediate access of vital details like their prices and the location where they are placed within a tiny period of time. The final product is an extremely useful creation and would play a vital part in the process of managing a spare part business.

  • Payroll Management System.

    Name - Yamuna Dulanjali
    Course - CMJD
    Panadura Branch
    2013/14 - 21nd Batch

Calculating salaries of employees of a company is a tiring task because the attendance of the employees must be considered and the company rules must be applied after that. It is an issue that I have seen in many companies that the calculation of salaries wastes a lot of human hours and effort.

The project I did for my first semester is a Payroll System that is able to calculate the salaries of a large number of workers summing up to 1000 employees. It is able to directly calculate employee salaries using the reports of a fingerprint system once the company rules are applied to it. Reporting is optimized in the project. It is able to create many reports needed for the business to perform day-to-day activities as well as reports that qualify for the presentation for tax purposes showing the details of the employee salaries that have been paid throughout the whole year. My project pays attention to performance and it can be used to calculate salaries for large scale companies very efficiently. .

  • Payroll Management System.

    Name - Thedath Oudraya
    Course - CMJD
    Galle Branch
    2013/14 - 22nd Batch

For my first project, I chose to make a system that automates the total process of calculating employees’ salaries. The only input required is the fingerprints of the employees. Therefore my system will work alongside a fingerprint system and it pays a lot of attention to the business rules. The company rules can be applied to the system and the salaries will be calculated automatically according to them using the reports of fingerprint system. The system I have made will automate the whole process of calculating salaries of the workers which would otherwise consume a lot of time. Errors that come up when the salaries are calculated manually are overcome when my system is used. The scope of my project may not seem large but the logic involved has been sort of challenging but I was able to complete it very successfully.
